Institutional Investor Rankings Recognize UP

January 8, 2015

Investors and security analysts have selected Jack Koraleski, Union Pacific Chairman and CEO, and Rob Knight, Union Pacific Chief Financial Officer, as the No. 1 chief executive officer and chief financial officer, respectively, in the 2015 Institutional Investor rankings' Airfreight and Surface Transportation sector. Union Pacific also was recognized for having the second-ranked Investor Relations team. As a result of the awards, the railroad was named to Institutional Investor's "America's Most Honored Companies" list.

"These recognitions not only highlight UP's strong financial performance, but also reflect the reputation for credibility that we've built in the financial community with consistent and quality communications," said Knight.

Evaluations were based on performance in various areas, including quality and depth of expertise, credibility, accessibility, financial transparency and disclosure.

The survey results come from more than 1,250 institutional investors and money managers at 660 investment firms. They collectively manage about $7.8 trillion in U.S. equities from nearly 1,000 security analysts. These analysts are from a surplus of 150 sell-side firms.

The Airfreight and Surface Transportation sector is comprised of more than 40 publicly traded companies, including airfreight, railroad, logistics providers and trucking companies.
