Union Pacific Railroad Receives President's Award for Logistics Excellence from Toyota Logistics Services

Omaha, Neb., May 17, 2013 – Union Pacific Railroad received the 2012 President's Award for Logistics Excellence from Toyota Logistics Services. The annual honor, which Union Pacific won for the second consecutive year, recognizes overall logistics excellence among rail carriers. The President's Award is Toyota's highest supplier distinction.

Union Pacific also received excellence awards for on-time service performance and customer service.

Toyota Logistics Services recognizes outstanding performance of all logistics suppliers, including truck, marine and railroad companies. Its customer service scores rate communication, equipment supply, responsiveness, collaboration, business controls and overall ease of doing business. On-time performance involves online and through-route performance and improved year-over-year transit time. Quality scores emphasize damage-free service, year-over-year damage reduction, process improvements and reduction in damage cost per vehicle.
