Union Pacific Sends Kids to the Circus

Omaha, Neb., August 1, 2005 – As the "Greatest Show on Earth" rolls into cities across the country, it is tracks, not roads, that pave the way. For more than 100 years, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® has traveled the western United States over the Union Pacific Railroad. This year, as an indication of their long-enduring partnership, Ringling Bros. and Union Pacific provided hundreds of circus tickets for deserving children in states where Union Pacific operates.

"Union Pacific is proud to provide transportation services for the circus," Darlynn Herweg, director-community support, said. "We’re pleased this partnership provided us with a unique way to give back to the communities in which we operate, and we know the kids really enjoyed the show."

Union Pacific designated Boys & Girls Clubs and Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Houston and Omaha as the recipients of 50 tickets each to the opening night event.
