How to Consolidate a Shipment
Combining Material
- Gather all material for any UPRR location and package accordingly.
- If weight is more than 120 lbs,total weight combined for 1 destination,ltl routing applies(even if shipping in seperate packages).
- Each order must be kept separate and contain a packing list. Example: If there are two UPS orders and one pallet of LTL going to different locations, do not mix the UPS orders in with the pallet of LTL.
Bill of Lading Preparation
- Fill out only one bill of lading per day,per destination.
- Consignee field should read for LTL shipments:

3. Commodity field should show the combined orders.
Example of a LTL shipment:
2 plt widgets 800 lbs. (2 orders) 1 bdl railroad equip 360 lbs. (1 order) 2 ctns railroad equip 30 lbs. (1 order) Total: 5 pcs 1190 lbs. (4 orders)
NOTE:A bill of lading MUST be filled out for EACH destination.
4. The final destination must be visible in the body of the bill of lading. Along with po#'s,wo#'s and any other information relating to the shipment.
Material Labeling
* Do not mix orders with different destinations together on one pallet.
- Each individual piece on an order needs to be marked with the following:
