UPS Recognizes Union Pacific for Outstanding Peak Season Performance
Omaha, Neb., April 03, 2009 UPS recently recognized Union Pacific for the railroad's outstanding peak season performance for the second consecutive year. Union Pacific delivered approximately 9,500 UPS containers and trailers with a Union Pacific-record 91 percent on-time performance.
"It takes significant coordination and communication to achieve the level of performance we attained during the 2008 UPS peak season," said Barry Michaels, Union Pacific assistant vice president, Premium Operations – Network. "Customers associate value with service and we always strive to deliver the best possible customer service. Our team of dispatchers, corridor directors and supervisors were extremely focused on this effort and we are excited and honored by this UPS recognition."
Union Pacific's performance allowed for 100 percent of all package sorts to be delivered by UPS during the peak season, which was from November 23 to December 24.
