Union Pacific Recognized as Top Railroad in On-Time Service Performance and Customer Service by Toyota
Omaha, Neb., March 30, 2010 Union Pacific has been recognized as the top railroad in on-time service performance and customer service in 2009 by Toyota Logistics Services. These two Toyota Logistics Excellence Awards are presented to the transportation supplier that provides superior on-time service performance and customer service that excels in communication, equipment supply, responsiveness, collaboration, business controls and overall ease of doing business.
"This is the first year since 2002 that Union Pacific has been a multiple award winner for Toyota," said Julie Krehbiel, Union Pacific vice president and general manager - Automotive. "This achievement is the result of significant dedication of the entire Union Pacific team, especially our Field Operations, Premium Operations, Finance, Damage Prevention and Marketing and Sales groups. Our goal is to continue to improve customer service and satisfaction."
A collaborative focus on responsiveness, process standardization, problem solving, and consistent transportation service performance all contributed to the company's success in being recognized for these prominent logistics excellence awards. Union Pacific transported nearly 500,000 Toyota vehicles in 2009.
