Todd Wimmer Named General Superintendent - Transportation Services of Union Pacific's Portland Service Unit
Omaha, Neb., August 5, 2005 Union Pacific Railroad has named Todd Wimmer general superintendent – transportation services of its Portland Service Unit. The appointment is effective immediately.
Wimmer replaces Ken Hunt who was promoted to assistant vice president – operations in Los Angeles.
As general superintendent – transportation services, Wimmer, 33, is responsible for the safe operation of an average of 90 trains a day over nearly 1,500 miles of track in Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho and northern California.
Wimmer started his railroad career in 1991 with Union Pacific’s engineering department. He held several positions in the engineering department including manager – special projects and director – track maintenance. Prior to being named general superintendent – transportation services of the Portland Service Unit, Wimmer held the position of superintendent – transportation services in Wichita.
Wimmer graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.
