Union Pacific Announces Krehbiel, Whited Promotions

Omaha, Neb., February 1, 2005 – Union Pacific has named Julie Krehbiel assistant vice president and general manager of Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS) and Beth Whited assistant vice president automotive-General Motors.

In her position, Krehbiel is responsible for UPDS’s comprehensive rail management, third-party intermodal services, carrier services and rail-to-truck transload. She will report to Doug Glass, senior assistant vice president of business development.

Krehbiel started her career at Union Pacific in 1988 as a management trainee in Marketing and Sales. She has held various positions during her tenure with the railroad on the following business teams: automotive, chemicals, industrial products and Market Development and Sales Center (MDSC). Most recently, Krehbiel was assistant vice president automotive-General Motors.

Krehbiel is a 1988 Creighton University graduate with a bachelor's degree in administration. She has served as president of Union Pacific’s LEAD (Lead, Educate, Achieve, Develop) women’s initiative and currently is co-chair of LEAD’s community involvement committee. She also serves on the Institute of Career Advancement Needs board.

Whited succeeds Krehbiel as assistant vice president automotive-General Motors. In her new position, Whited is responsible for account management, strategic planning, contract development and customer relations for General Motors, one of the railroad’s largest customers. She will report to Eric Butler, vice president and general manager of autos.

Whited began her career at Union Pacific in 1987 and has held positions in corporate finance, accounting and investor relations. She most recently was assistant vice president-business planning, and in that position managed the market research function and new business development.

Whited is a 1987 graduate of the University of Iowa, where she received a degree in business administration. She is a Certified Public Accountant. She also serves on a number of boards, including those of the University of Iowa Henry Fund and Marketing Advisory Council, the Susan G. Komen Foundation Nebraska affiliate and Link for Life.
