Union Pacific Foundation Grants Nearly $950,000 to 153 Texas Nonprofit Organizations

Omaha, Neb., April 25, 2013

The Union Pacific Foundation is granting nearly $950,000 in 2013 to 153 Texas nonprofit organizations.

"Union Pacific is proud to support these charitable organizations as they work to build strong, sustainable communities," said Robert W. Turner, Union Pacific senior vice president - Corporate Relations and Union Pacific Foundation president. "It is important that we help these groups continue to make positive impacts in the towns and cities where many of our employees live and work across our 23-state network."

Union Pacific assists nonprofits in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

For more than 50 years, the Union Pacific Foundation has upheld the tradition of supporting community and civic programs. Grants to nonprofit organizations support community, cultural, and health and human services.

To apply for a 2014 grant, visit the Union Pacific Foundation website beginning May 1, 2013, and follow the online application instructions. The application deadline is August 15, 2013.
