Spokane Awarded Membership in Union Pacific's Train Town USA Registry
Spokane, Wash., July 10, 2012 Spokane, Wash., has been awarded membership in Union Pacific's Train Town USA Registry as part of the railroad's year-long 150th anniversary celebration. City officials in Spokane received an official Train Town USA resolution signed by Union Pacific Chairman Jim Young today, making Spokane an official part of Union Pacific's 150th anniversary celebration across its 23-state network.
"With a nod to our historic legacy in Spokane, Union Pacific looks forward to the future with the Spokane community," said Brock Nelson, Union Pacific director - public affairs for Washington. "We work with thousands of communities across our network, and Spokane is one with which we have a strong connection worthy of recognition in Union Pacific's Train Town USA Registry."
