Wyoming Public School Principals Honor Union Pacific's The Principals' Partnership

Omaha, Neb., March 23, 2005 – The Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals has presented an award of special appreciation to Union Pacific’s "The Principals’ Partnership," a professional resource program that Union Pacific introduced to Wyoming public high school principals in 2003.

"We appreciate Union Pacific’s ongoing support of our work in Wyoming," said EmmaJo Spiegelberg, executive director of the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals. "The Principals’ Partnership is an invaluable resource for our principals, offering tools and professional development they need to help educate our students and build strong schools."

The Principals’ Partnership recently helped the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals secure speakers for the group’s educational summit.

In 16 states, The Principals’ Partnership helps fulfill public high school principals’ leadership needs through a number of opportunities, including research, networking and workshops. For example, The Principals’ Partnership picks up the cost of private, one-on-one sessions between private education consultants and principals to address specific issues or needs. The Principals’ Partnership also holds a professional conference every year, free to participating public high school principals.

More than 800 public high school principals in key communities served by Union Pacific Railroad participate in the program and Union Pacific’s goal is to have more than 1,000 principals from its 23-state service territory enrolled by 2007. The Principals’ Partnership is available to public high school principals in Arizona, California, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

In Wyoming, 25 public high school principals participate in the program.

In addition to the special recognition from the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals, The Principals’ Partnership recently received the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Distinguished Service Award and special recognition from the Utah Association of Secondary School Principals.
