Nature of Firm
Progressive Rail Incorporated operates over 140 miles of rail lines in the greater Twin Cities area and northern Wisconsin. PGR leases and operates three rail line segments for UP: a connection with UP at Norma, WI, and 38.3 miles north to Cameron, WI and then on former CN tracks to Barron and Rice Lake, WI; from a connection with UP at Northfield, MN, 15.7 miles east to Cannon Falls, MN; and on the Faribault Industrial Lead (1.4 miles), with trackage rights to interchange with UP at Northfield, MN. Traffic consists of forest products, grain, steel goods, plastic, chemicals and canned goods.
History
PGR began operations on September 25, 1996 in Airlake Industrial Park in Lakeview, MN. In March 2004 PGR leased the Cannon Falls Sub and Faribault Industrial Lead. In November 2004 PGR leased a portion of the Chippewa Falls branch from Norma to Cameron, WI.
