Minnesota Prairie Line Inc. MPL #984

Nature of Firm

MPL operates freight service over 94 miles of track between Norwood and Hanley Falls, MN, which is owned by the Minnesota Valley Regional Railroad Authority.  MPL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Twin Cities & Western Railroad.

History

This line was abandoned in 1982 by Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company. Subsequently, the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority bought the line.
