Nature of Firm

The Coos Bay Rail Link is owned by the International Port of Coos Bay and is operated by Coos Bay Operating Co an LLC owned by ARG Transportation Services. The railroad extends 134 miles from Eugene to Coquille, OR. Primary products handled by the CBR is lumber, woodchips, plate steel, treated wood, Ilmenite and organic dairy feed. Presently CBR has 10 customers on its railroad.

History

The Coos Bay Rail Link was owned by the Southern Pacific Transportation Co. until 1996 when it was acquired by RAILTEX who sold it to RailAmerica. RailAmerica sold it to the International Port of Coos Bay in 2009. The railroad was not operating from 2007 through October 2011. Operations were restarted in October 2011.
