Obtaining a Rate
When submitting a rate request it is helpful to know:
- Origin & Destination - This is the origin city, origin state, destination city and destination state.
- STCC Code - A Standard Transportation Commodity Code, STCC (pronounced stick), is the number that will identify the product to be moved. You can look up your STCC when using the Web Price & Transit Time Inquiry.
- Equipment Type - This is the type of rail car that is proposed to move your product. To view the car type for your Commodity, see the Equipment Resources and Policies section on this site.
Select STCC/Commodity description to determine your STCC code & Equipment type.
