Features of R-CAR

• A UP representative trains customers for about an hour to become certified for using R-CAR. You'll learn how to inspect and prep a car for the next shipper. With the training, you'll be able to determine the difference between a clean car and one with a defect.
• Certified customers use a simple Car Release Checklist (PDF File) (43K PDF file) to log car release and condition information. Then, they use the Web to release cars and identify if the car is clean or has a defect.
• Once the car is certified clean, UP positions cars directly to the next shipper, bypassing cleaning tracks and wasted cycle days.
• If a customer finds a defect, UP takes the car directly to a repair facility.
