Boxcars
General Description
Boxcars are generally used for loads which must be protected from the weather. They may be ordered with insulation, refrigeration, cushioning, bulkheads or damage free devices for protection against shifting, damage or temperature extremes during transit.
Commodity Types Shipped in Boxcars
Generally, boxcars are designed to carry a multitude of different products which can be loaded on racks or pallets, braced, bagged or stored in containers. Commodities include auto parts, major appliances, building materials, canned goods, beer, cereals, perishables, bagged flour mill products, etc.
