Background on Mine
Coal Creek is situated on one of the richest coal regions of the United States. Coal Creek has a production capacity of 15 million tons per year. The mine has two separate coal seams, ranging from 5 to 30 feet in thickness. Total reserves are in excess of 290 million tons. The first shipment was in May 1982.
