General Overview

Bowie Resources, Limited began coal production in January 1995 from its Bowie #1 mine located in Paonia, Colorado. Monthly production has reached 85,000 tons.

Permits have been received to develop the adjacent Bowie #2 mine located on 80 million tons of coal reserves. The property was previously owned by Coors Energy Company. 1998 production should reach 2 million tons and grow to 6 million tons in 1999. Bowie #2 will utilize the longwall method of mining to provide high-Btu product (12,000+) with a very low sulphur (.5%) content at a low cost.
