Andalex Resources is a private company created by a family which has been mining coal continuously since 1835. William Mitchell founded the company in Scotland. The family's interest includes the mining operations of Luscar Ltd. in Canada and Andalex Resources in the United States. The combined annual production of these companies is about 17 million tons.
