Mine Background
Twentymile's Foidel Creek mine began operation in 1983. A new state-of-the-art longwall system was installed in 1996, and a sophisticated batch-weigh loading system was also completed that year. This union-free mine produces high-Btu, low-sulphur steam and stoker coals for both utility and industrial customers.
