Oklahoma

Commodities, Customers and Connections

Oklahoma is a vital link in Union Pacific's north-south corridor between the Midwest and the Gulf Coast. Grain bound for export overseas moves through the state, as well as coal bound for southern power plants. Important commodities originating in the state include wheat, cement and aggregates.

Union Pacific's many customers in the state include Oklahoma Gas & Electric, Grand River Dam Authority and Great Lakes Carbon, Dolese Brothers, Lone Star Industries and Farmland Industries.

The crossroads for Union Pacific trains in the state is Wagoner, where nearly all the north-south traffic funnels through. Some trains linking Arkansas with the Midwest also use the Wagoner junction. Union Pacific operates another north-south line in western Oklahoma, serving Enid, El Reno and Duncan. It connects Kansas wheat areas to the Texas ports. Switch yards and related facilities are operated at Muskogee, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Chickasha, Enid and McAlester.
